Welcome to MISSION MOON! All coaches in Oregon are automatically added to this mailing list. Teams in neighboring communities are welcome to participate in Oregon Expos provided there is space.  If you have missed an email from Oregon you may read the archive on our blog, or see the important links on our website. Official updates and program materials can be found on the FIRST LEGO League Jr Challenge website.

1) Watch the Next Level - FIRST LEGO League

This weekend marks the start of the FIRST LEGO League tournament season. FIRST LEGO League tournaments will take place December 9, 9, 15, & 16 all around the state of Oregon. On January 19 & 20 the top 120 teams will participate in the State Championship tournament at Liberty High School in Hillsboro.  As in year's past, there will be a Sunday FIRST LEGO League Jr moving up to FIRST LEGO League tour!

Coaches and parents are strongly encouraged to volunteer at local events and at the state level to learn all about the FIRST LEGO League program. ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC to watch the Robot Game and Ceremonies.

2) Expos being scheduled for April/May 2019

I am happy to announce that we are finally getting confirmations on some expos for this year! We are working on several locations, but 5 expos have been booked for the coming spring. Four expos will take place at OMSI on April 13 & 14 (2 different expos each day) and at Hood River County Library on April 27. You can see new expos as they are scheduled on our website:  https://ortop.org/flljr/fll-jr-team-info/

Expo registration will open the end of January 2019!

3) Participating at the World Festival with MISSON MOON

If your team would like to represent Oregon in the World Festival this year, there are two ways to get your team entered into the lottery to attend:
By signing up your team will be responsible for all of their own expenses. This can be a tremendous opportunity for your team to get to meet other teams from around the world.

4) Coach in need of an Engineering Workbook

Do to a series of events one of the Gaston FIRST LEGO League Jr teams is in need of 1 more Engineering Notebook (for the students) - if you have one your team won't be using can you please contact Missy at missy_hunt@outlook.com She would love to have this resolved.

I hope your teams are ready for an amazing spring filled with lots of exciting Moon based events!

Best Wishes,
Loridee
